Fantastic news from Joe Gibbs Racing driver Matt Tifft: He’s out of the hospital after successful brain surgery.

Friday, the 20-year old racer underwent surgery to remove a low-grade glioma in his brain, and around midnight on Saturday night he was released.

Tifft Tweeted that he had begun walking and had eaten solid food as well, both great signs. And he Tweeted a fairly graphic picture of what his skull looks like after the surgery.

He is expected to resume his racing career once he completes rehabilitation and receives medical clearance.

So far this season, Tifft has run six NASCAR XFINITY Series races and three more in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
