Connick Jr.: Saints boost New Orleans post-Katrina

Singer and New Orleans native Harry Connick Jr. says the

economic and emotional boost from the Saints’ Super Bowl victory is

giving the city unprecedented momentum in the wake of Hurricane

Connick, who is singing the national anthem for Sunday’s Daytona

500, says the tourism money brought in to local businesses from the

team’s playoff run is carrying over into Mardi Gras, resulting in

the “greatest time in the history of our city, at least as long as

I’ve been alive.”

Connick, who was wearing a black shirt with a gold fleur de lis,

says the city is excited and proud of the team.
