Charlotte Motor Speedway to throw ‘NASCAR Rain Party’

Charlotte Motor Speedway has a number of "NASCAR Rain Party" events on tap for soggy Friday at the track.

It’s raining at Charlotte Motor Speedway today and the forecast does not look especially good for the remainder of the day. 

With that in mind, track officials are taking a novel approach to the rotten weather: The track is throwing a NASCAR Rain Party, complete with driver appearances, live music, concourse cornhole games and movies on the giant Speedway TV.

Here’s the lowdown:

LATEST FROM NASCAR

2-2:30 p.m. — Dale Earnhardt Jr. Q&A with PRN’s Doug Rice at the Fan Zone;

2:30-2:45 p.m. — Ryan Blaney Q&A with PRN’s Doug Rice at the Fan Zone;

3-7 p.m. — Cornhole at the Ford concourse near the Gate 6 entrance;

3-3:45 p.m. — Liz Moriando live music on the concourse behind Smith Tower;

3:30-4 p.m. — Brad Keselowski autograph session at the Penske Racing souvenir stand inside Gate 3 (subject to track conditions);

4-4:30 p.m. — Joey Logano autograph session at the Penske Racing souvenir stand inside Gate 3 (subject to track conditions);

4-5 p.m. — Johnny Reed Foley live music on the concourse behind Smith Tower; and 

5-6 p.m. — Candis Elwood live music on the concourse behind Smith Tower.
