Kyle Weatherman released from hospital after ARCA pileup

ARCA Racing Series driver Kyle Weatherman was released from hospital early Saturday morning after being involved in a multi-car incident in Friday night’s Kansas ARCA 150 at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City.

The red flag flew following the crash, which started when the No. 22 of Myatt Snider got sideways after contact with his Cunningham Motorsports teammate Chase Briscoe.

As the field reacted to the incident, Weatherman’s No. 10 machine got turned and T-boned Snider’s machine, which had come to a virtual stop on the racetrack. Weatherman took several more significant hits before his car finally came to a rest. While he was able to limp away, he was transported by ground to a local hospital for further evaluation.

Weatherman announced on Twitter Saturday morning that he had been released from the hospital overnight at 1:30 a.m., stating that it was “the hardest wreck I’ve been in.

“Very blessed everything did its job in the wreck,” Weatherman continued, “also very blessed God was watching over everyone involved in the wreck. Everything is OK with me, just very sore.”

The race was restarted, with Briscoe taking home the win and the championship.
