Tesla aims to rival BMW with electric-powered Model III
Tesla, a relatively new car brand to the auto market renown for making fully-electric vehicles, is getting set to rival the BMW 3 series with its upcoming Model III.
One of the major talking points on this upcoming vehicle is its price tag: $35,000 – half of what the current Model S costs.
The Model III, which Tesla plan on releasing in 2017 after the release of the Model X, was initially going to be called the Model E, until Ford Motor Co. claimed rights to the name. (Maybe that’s for the best, considering that initially the three vehicles would’ve been branded as the Model S, Model E and Model X.)
Though there have been no official images of the vehicle released yet, AutoExpress.co.uk has released images based on its own speculation of what the vehicle will look like … virtually just a smaller version of the current Model S.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk reports that the electric-powered Model III will have a range of about 200 miles on a full charge.
