Many injured as Porsche crashes into crowd at motor show in Malta

A total of 26 people were reportedly injured after a Porsche 918 Spyder spun into a crowd of spectators at a motor show in Malta on Sunday.

Times of Malta reports that five of those injuries were in critical condition, including one six-year-old girl.

The driver of the car was 55-year-old Paul Bailey, a British businessman and self-made millionaire who owns multiple supercars. He lost control of the Porsche after clipping the grass and was among one of those injured.

The event was being held at Malta International Airport, where the annual Paqpaqli Ghall-Istrina motor show takes place. The remainder of the event was cancelled and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
