Jordan Taylor is putting his face on an XFINITY car for charity
Jordan Taylor, 25, is an American sports car racer whose career accomplishments include a class win at the 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans.
But Taylor’s accomplishments don’t stop just there, he also holds the (unofficial) record for best mullet in sports car racing, and this weekend it may be making its return.
No, he hasn’t grown it back. Rather, he is trying to get a sticker of his face on Andy Lally’s No. 90 3Dimensional.com Chevrolet at this weekend’s NASCAR XFINITY race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio.
And given that – as of Friday morning – he has already raised $2,500 at GoFundMe.com, it looks like it’s going to be happening.
Lally even listed the program as an associate sponsor in an Instagram post:
However, as Taylor notes, this program – called Bring Back The Mullet for Camp – isn’t “just a desperate cry for attention, but it is to help bring awareness and raise money for Camp Boggy Creek,” a camp for children with serious illnesses, which is located in Eustis, Florida.
Taylor matched the first $1,000 raised and donated it to Camp Boggy Creek.
Taylor initially asked other donors “that whatever you donate to this, big or small, that you match it with a donation to Camp Boggy Creek.” But now that the GoFundMe page has helped raise $2,500 – enough to get his image on one of the quarter panels – Taylor has announced on Twitter that any additional donations are going straight to Camp Boggy Creek:
She is naked now but I'm really excited to announce that my friend Douglas Peterson has helped 3dimensional.com come on board as our primary sponsor for this weekend's #NASCAR Xfinity Series race!! We also have @txmotorspeedway and @veganidentifier as well as @jordan10taylor & @mike_hedlund teaming with @campboggycreek as associate sponsors …and there are a couple more still in the works! It is so cool to get a chance to run these cars and I'm excited about that but I'm also blown away by the amount of support I get from not only my road racing buddies in IMSA and around the world but for all the fans of the sport in general that like to pull for the #underdog. It's very encouraging and I'll draw on that when the inevitable time comes this weekend where we are giving it our all and facing an uphill battle against some of the giant teams in this sport. My team owner Mario Gosselin is a guy that always does a lot with a little and just like in years past I'm looking forward to joining that fight to see how we stack up!!
