Cheap shot? Fighter knocks out opponent in three seconds after faking glove touch

The number one rule in combat sports is to protect yourself at all times, but it’s commonplace for MMA fighters and boxers to touch gloves at the start of a bout out of respect for their opponent.

This weekend at WBK 22 in Hangzhou, China, Russian heavyweight Ibragim Khalilov caught his opponent off guard and ended his fight in just three seconds. Bakhtiyar Barotov, from Tajikistan, held out his arms to touch gloves in the center of the cage – but Khalilov drilled him on the chin instead.

That’s one way to win a fight.
