New England Revolution 1-0 Kansas City Wizards

Shalrie Joseph scored the lone goal of the game to lead the New

England Revolution to a 1-0 victory over the Kansas City Wizards on

Saturday night.

Joseph put the Revolution ahead in the 31st minute while Bobby

Shuttleworth stopped four shots to pick up his first career shutout

and knock the Wizards out of playoff contention.

Chris Tierney lobbed a long ball down the field, where Joseph

caught up with it, headed it around over Jimmy Nielson, and banged

it through to give the home side the lead.

Kansas City had a chance in the 10th minute to score, but Josh

Wolff’s cross ahead to Kei Kamara on the far post couldn’t result

in a score.
