Puig went 1-for-4 with a home run, a walk, three RBI and a stolen base Friday in the Reds' 11-7 win over the Brewers.
After delivering disappointing returns for much of the season, Puig is beginning to provide some categorical juice for his fantasy managers. Over his last seven starts, Puig has hit .346 with four home runs, two steals, eight RBI and six runs. He'll be back in the lineup for Saturday's game, serving as the Reds' No. 5 hitter.
Puig finished 2-for-4 with a triple, a run scored and a stolen base during Thursday's 7-1 win over the Brewers.
Puig singled and stole a base in the third inning before tripling and coming around to score in the fifth. The dynamic outfielder is on a tear of late, hitting .412 with three home runs, five RBI, and five runs scored over his last nine games. Puig will look to keep it going over the remainder of the weekend set.
Puig went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a 3-2 victory against the Astros on Wednesday.
The 28-year-old definitely started slowly this season, and he's still only hitting .272 in June, but he has four homers in the month, including three in his last five games. It's possible Puig still reaches 30 homers this year. Overall, Puig is hitting .230 with 14 home runs, 38 RBI, 28 runs and nine steals in 252 at-bats.
Puig went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and two runs in an 11-3 victory against the Rangers on Sunday.
The 28-year-old has showcased decent power all season, but he's starting to string together more hits. Puig posted a pair of three-hit games during the weekend series with the Rangers, and he's on a five-game hitting streak. Puig is batting .231 with 13 home runs, 37 RBI, 27 runs and nine steals in 242 at-bats during 2019.
Puig is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Phillies, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Puig was showing signs of life over the final couple weeks of May, but he's since gone cold again, batting .143 (3-for-21) with a homer and seven strikeouts to begin June. He will get a day off Saturday as the Reds deploy Josh VanMeter in the outfield. There is still a lot to like with Puig's skill set, but he's struggling to lay off pitches outside of the strike zone, particularly the high fastball.
