Adames went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and a second run scored in Friday's 5-3 win over the A's.

    Impact

The shortstop also came up big in the field, throwing out Khris Davis at home in the sixth inning with a strong relay when the Oakland slugger attempted to score from first on a Jurickson Profar double. Adames is now slashing .254/.317/.387 on the year with seven homers, three steals, 21 RBI and 31 runs through 70 games.

Adames is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

    Impact

Utility man Joey Wendle will check into the starting nine in Adames' stead, batting seventh while manning shortstop in the series finale. Given that he's put together a middling .242/.308/.368 slash line on the season, Adames' hold on an everyday role could begin to slip now that Wendle -- one of the majors' top-producing rookies in 2018 -- is back to full health after an extended absence.

Adames went 2-for-3 with an RBI single, a walk, a steal of home and a run in a loss to the Athletics on Tuesday.

    Impact

Adames accomplished the rare swipe of home plate in the fourth inning after a walk. The speedy shortstop initially went from first to third on a Kevin Kiermaier single and the Rays subsequently pulled off the double steal. Adames' run-scoring single in the ninth also brought the Rays to within a run before the comeback fizzled. The multi-hit effort was Adames' fourth of June and also snapped a brief 0-for-8 slump that had encompassed his previous two games.
