Yadier Molina rips a base hit after mid at-bat pushups
On Monday night against the Phillies, a brushback pitch from Brett Oberholtzer dropped Molina to the dirt where the veteran catcher decided to stay in a leaning rest and pound out a couple push-ups.
Nothing like some some push-ups to get those pectoral muscles firing. Here it is broken down:
"That was a first" Cardinals manager Mike Matheny said after the game. "It seemed to work so we might see it again. If [Molina] had hit a home run he might do it every at-bat in the on deck circle."
A short body weight workout and a base knock? Not a bad plate appearance.
