Tigers agree to 1-year deal with Romine, avoid arbitration
DETROIT (AP) The Detroit Tigers have agreed to a one-year deal with infielder Andrew Romine, avoiding arbitration.
Romine hit .255 last season with two home runs and 15 RBIs in 109 games. The 30-year-old made starts at all four infield positions, including 22 at shortstop.
The Tigers announced the deal with Romine on Thursday. Terms were not disclosed.
Romine is the second player to agree to a contract with Detroit after filing for arbitration this offseason. Reliever Justin Wilson did as well.
Outfielder J.D. Martinez and shortstop Jose Iglesias remain unsigned after filing for arbitration.
