Phillies-Mets postponed by rain, DH on Saturday

The scheduled game between the Philadelphia Phillies and New

York Mets has been postponed because of rain.

The game will be made up as part of a day-night doubleheader

Saturday, though rain is in the forecast again. The first game is

slated to start at 1:10 p.m. and the second game at 7:10 p.m.

Cole Hamels had been scheduled to pitch Friday night for the NL

East champion Phillies against New York knuckleballer R.A. Dickey.

Philadelphia has lost six straight since clinching its fifth

consecutive division title Saturday.

Ryan Howard (left ankle) was in the posted lineup for the

banged-up Phillies, who already clinched home-field advantage

throughout the postseason. Right fielder Hunter Pence (left knee)

was expected to return Saturday.
