Peavy leaves White Sox game with groin injury

White Sox right-hander Jake Peavy has left Chicago’s game

against the Detroit Tigers with a strained right groin.

Peavy allowed six runs in the fourth inning, then departed. He

will be re-evaluated on Monday.

Peavy’s 2010 season ended when he injured his right shoulder on

July 6.

The 2007 NL Cy Young Award winner rejoined the team on May 11

after recovering from shoulder surgery and was 2-0 with a 3.24 ERA

in four starts before Sunday’s game.
