The 31-year-old Kemp is hitting .262 with 23 home runs and 69 RBI for San Diego this season. He still has $18 million left on the two remaining years of his current contract, as well as the $3.5 million owed per year from his time with the Dodgers.

Olivera, also 31, signed a six-year, $62.5 million contract before being traded from the Los Angeles Dodgers to the Braves last summer in a three-team trade. In April, he was arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault and battery and was suspended 82 games without pay for violating the MLB's domestic violence policy. Olivera is eligible to play again on Aug. 1.
