Yankees no-hit the Tigers behind another dominant outing from Masahiro Tanaka

The New York Yankees’ pitchers are definitely ahead of the Detroit Tigers’ hitters. Masahiro Tanaka and two relievers combined to no-hit the Tigers on Friday in a 3-0 win.

Tanaka tossed 4.1 innings and struck out six, keeping his Grapefruit League ERA at 0.00. With 19 Ks and only three hits allowed in 13. 1 innings this spring, Tanaka clearly appears ready for his Opening Day start. Chasen Shreve got the final two outs of the fifth inning, and Jordan Montgomery pitched the final four innings.

If you’re wondering, the Tigers’ lineup did feature several starters, including Nick Castellanos, J.D. Martinez and Justin Upton. That trio combined to go 0-for-7 with four strikeouts.
