Sabathia avoids surgery, could pitch out of bullpen
The New York Yankees were dealt with unfortunate news over the weekend, as CC Sabathia had injured his knee, putting his 2015 season in jeopardy.
On Tuesday, however, Sabathia told the media he will avoid surgery for now.
He also added that he's open to pitching out of the bullpen, something Yankees fans have been pulling for with Sabathia struggling this season.
In 2015, the left hander is 4-9 with a 5.27 ERA in 24 starts, averaging less than six innings per start.
CC Sabathia said today's doctor told him no surgery. Sabathia hopes to be back when his 15 days are up. Open to pitching out of the bullpen.
