No go: Reported Mets-Brewers deal of Gomez, Wheeler, Flores off

Agent Scott Boras is not happy with the Mets.

UPDATE (10:55 p.m. ET): New York Mets GM Sandy Alderson denied any trade was made. 

Following Wednesday night’s 7-3 loss to the Padres, Alderson told reporters, "There is no trade” for Brewers outfielder Carlos Gomez and that a deal “will not transpire."

ORIGINAL STORY (9:02 p.m.): The Mets acquired Gomez in exchange for right-hander Zack Wheeler and shortstop Wilmer Flores on Wednesday, according to reports.

The deal is pending physicals, so an official announcement likely won’t be made until Thursday.

Gomez, 29, returns to the organization where he began his major-league career as a 21-year-old in 2007.

Milwaukee wrapped up a six-game home stand Wednesday afternoon, losing the rubber game to San Francisco. The Brewers were in the air when catcher Martin Maldonado tweeted:
