Mets look to wrap up Niese with deal
The New York Mets are in serious discussions on a long-term contract for left-hander Jonathon Niese, according to a major league source.
Niese, 25, is under club control for four more seasons. His new deal likely will be for at least five years, with Niese giving up at least one year of free agency.
Niese was 11-11 with a 4.40 ERA in 27 appearances (26 starts) last season.
