Boob(s) of the Day tumble with Mets

Just as the New York Mets took a tumble, dropping a 2-1 decision to the visiting St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday, this fan took a tumble of his own.

Thus, our "Boob of the Day." Congrats Mr. Tumbling Mets fan!

Speaking of boobs and the Mets

Deadspin.com reports that the Mets marketing department reached out to dating service Cougar Life to help third baseman David Wright make the 2013 All-Star Game, which happens to be at Citi Field on July 16 (7:30 p.m. ET on FOX).

Recently, Wright won the title of "hottest cub" in a survey by female members of Cougar Life — "the cougar dating site for younger hot men to meet sexy older professional women."

So when the latest All-Star released voting totals had Wright trailing San Francisco’s injured Pablo Sandoval for the NL third-base spot, the Mets marketing department figured to take advantage and ask the dating service for assistance in getting Wright more votes.

Deadspin reported that the Mets sent an email to Cougar Life on Friday, June 7. Below is part of that email.

Subject: David Wright ASG Push- CougarLife

Good morning-

We are trying to help push David Wright into the starting line-up for the 2013 MLB All-Star Game at Citi Field (his home stadium). He currently trails in the voting by 100,000 votes, even though he won win your vote as “MLB’s Hottest Cub”. We were wondering if you would be able to blog/post a story asking your users (who apparently admire David and would love seeing him play in the All-Star Game) to go to the below link to vote David and #VoteWrightNow as he needs their help. Voting online ends July 3rd and updates come out once a week, so the more support/posts about David the better. We would be able to share weekly updates if you would like to help push “your cub” into the game and ask your members to #VoteWrightNow @ mets.com.

A representative from Cougar Life responded the same day, saying they would be more than willing to assist.

But a few days later, the ballclub decided the partnership would not "be the image that our team and David — especially since he recently got engaged — would like to portray."
