Nationals activate RHP Ohlendorf from DL for start
The Washington Nationals activated right-hander Ross Ohlendorf
from the disabled list in time for him to start Wednesday night
against the Cubs.
Ohlendorf (2-0), who had been on the disabled list since Aug. 1
because of shoulder inflammation, has been used primarily in long
relief this season. His start on Wednesday is his third of the
season and seventh of his career.
On Tuesday, the Nationals optioned left-hander Ian Krol to
Triple-A Syracuse to make room on the roster for Ohlendorf.
Washington manager Davey Johnson said he expected Ohlendorf to
move into the fifth spot in the Nationals rotation, taking the
place of right-hander Taylor Jordan who was placed on the disabled
list last week.
