A weather postponment cost the Cubs a game this weekend which will not have to be made up in September.
Te grind of the season really kicks in later in the year and bodies may be starting to wear down a bit, but Cubs manager Joe Maddon isn’t worried about any of that and actually embraces the loss of the off day.

“I love it, actually,” Maddon told CSN Chicago. “We already have one off on Thursday before that. I don’t like too many off days in September. I don’t like too many off days period.
“I like off days, but not when they happen too frequently like it does in the beginning of the season. I think also with a young ball club it’s better to keep them playing."
