Little Leaguers bigger than MLB SPs?

They call it the Little League. For two pitchers in Williamsport, Pa., on Friday, they stood tall when compared to their major league counterparts.

Chula Vista (Mich.) sent Grant Holman to the mound. Holman, who is listed at 6-foot-4 and 216 pounds, threw a no-hitter, completing the gem on his 85th pitch, the maximum amount allowed according to LLWS rules.

Grosse Pointe (Michigan) countered with 6-3, 219-pound Chad Lorkowski, who threw six innings of one-hit ball before reaching his limit.

The not-so Little Leaguers compared favorably in the height and weight departments to the 32 MLB starters on Friday — Kansas City and Detroit played a doubleheader.

Only five of Friday’s major league starters are taller than Holman and Lorkowski, while just 10 weigh more than either of the Little League duo.
