The Texas Rangers will name Jeff Banister as their new manager, FOX Sports 1 Insider Ken Rosenthal first reported.

Banister has been the Pittsburgh Pirates’ bench coach the past four seasons.

Banister was one of three finalists for the Rangers’ job, along with interim manager Tim Bogar and Cleveland Indians bullpen coach Kevin Cash.

Bogar took over on an interim basis when longtime manager Ron Washington resigned on Sept. 5. Texas finished last in the AL West this season with a 67-95 record.
