Jays acquire Valbuena from Indians

The Toronto Blue Jays acquired second baseman Luis Valbuena from

the Cleveland Indians on Saturday in exchange for cash

considerations.

The 25-year-old Valbuena appeared in 17 games for Cleveland last

season, batting .209 with one home run and one RBI.

The left-handed hitter has played in 229 major league games over

four seasons for Seattle (2008) and Cleveland (2009-11), with a

With the move, the Blue Jays have 40 players on the 40-man

roster.
