SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) The Arizona Diamondbacks have signed pitcher Jorge De La Rosa to a minor league contract with an invitation to major league spring training.

The 35-year-old left-hander has pitched 13 seasons, the last nine with the Colorado Rockies. He was 8-9 with a 5.51 ERA in 27 appearances for the Rockies last season, 24 of them starts.

De La Rosa's best season was 2013, when he was 16-6 with a 3.49 ERA for Colorado, where pitchers struggle because of the high altitude. He has a 101-84 career record with a 4.64 ERA.

De La Rosa joins a tough competition for a spot in the Arizona rotation under new manager Torey Lovullo.
