Curtis Granderson hits two extra-inning home runs to propel Mets

Curtis Granderson and the New York Mets had an extra, extra-special night Saturday at Citi Field.

The outfielder joined a rare club as he hit a pair of extra-inning home runs to give the Mets a 3-2 victory over the Minnesota Twins.

Granderson hit a home run in the 11th inning, the Mets’ 200th of the season, and followed with another blast in the 12th to win the game.

Nationalpastime.com chronicled other players who hit a pair of home runs in extra innings.

Granderson countered Byron Buxton’s homer in the top of the 11th with his first hit.

He then hit his 28th home run of the season in the next inning to end the game.

The 201st home run set a team mark for the Mets.
