Thanks to a wealth of tremendous young players, many Colorado Rockies fans are already looking ahead to 2017. Now they can officially start planning for next season.
Major League Baseball announced the entire MLB 2017 schedule on Wednesday morning. As part of that announcement, we now know exactly where the Rockies will be throughout the spring and summer of 2017.

The Rockies open the 2017 campaign on the road at Milwaukee for a four-game series from April 3-6. Following the series against the Brewers, the Rockies will make their 2017 Coors Field debut in a three-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The home opener is slated for Friday, April 7 at 2:10 p.m. (Mountain time).
Colorado will have a holiday-heavy home schedule this season as well. They’ll be at Coors Field on Mother’s Day (May 14 against the Dodgers), Memorial Day (May 29 against the Seattle Mariners), Father’s Day (June 18 against the San Francisco Giants), Independence Day (July 4 against the Cincinnati Reds) and Labor Day (September 4 against San Francisco).
One of the big draws for fans throughout the season are the fireworks shows and there are three scheduled at Coors Field this season. Those will take place on Monday, July 3, and Tuesday, July 4, after games against the Reds. The final show of the season is slated for Friday, Sept. 29 following the game against the Dodgers. This will be the start of the final three-game series of the regular season.
In Interleague play, the Rockies will face all five American League Central teams for the first time since 2014, in addition to the American League West’s Seattle Mariners. Colorado will host the Mariners (May 29-30), Cleveland Indians (June 6-7), Chicago White Sox (July 7-9) and Detroit Tigers (August 28-30).
Colorado will play the standard 19 games against each of their four National League West rivals. They will host 10 games against the Dodgers and Giants and nine games against the Arizona Diamondbacks and San Diego Padres.
Also notable on the schedule is a consistency with Sunday home games. For the 2017 season, for the first time since 2012, all Rockies Sunday home games will start at 1:10 p.m. (Mountain time).
