A-Rod’s apartments not up to code
Yankees star Alex Rodriguez was being chased for repairs on his Florida apartment complex after the site was hit with 25 housing code violations, TMZ reported Saturday.
A-Rod’s Newport Villas in Tampa was targeted for action by the local housing officials after staircases were left crumbling and a fence broken.
Rodriguez’s representative said his company, Newport Property Ventures, was responding to the complaint.
"The staircases are slated for repair in April and residents continue to have unobstructed access to their units," he said, adding that the fence was broken by vandals.
But Rodriguez may face a harder task of curbing alleged "criminal activities" on the site, which Florida housing officials said had risen after the fence was breached.
TMZ reported that a former employee at Rodriguez’s company alleged that drug dealers operated at the complex.
