Brault (shoulder) threw a bullpen session Sunday, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.
Brault has been out with a strained left shoulder since early July. He's scheduled to throw another bullpen session Wednesday and a simulated game over the weekend, at which point his return timeline may become clearer.
Brault (shoulder) will likely throw off a mound over the weekend, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Brault landed on the injured list prior to the All-Star break with a left shoulder strain. He resumed throwing Sunday and could be cleared to throw off a slope in the near future, at which point a timetable for his return could come into focus. In the meantime, Dario Agrazal will continue to fill in for Brault in the rotation.

Brault will be eligible to return from the injured list as soon as Tuesday but will need more time than that. Dario Agrazal is filling in for him in the rotation for now.
Manager Clint Hurdle suggested that Brault (shoulder) won't be ready to return from the 10-day injured list when first eligible July 16, Alan Saunders of the Associated Press reports.
Brault was diagnosed with a left shoulder strain following his final start before the All-Star break July 5 and apparently isn't quite ready to resume a throwing program. The Pirates should provide an update on Brault's condition later this weekend, but he'll at least miss one turn through the rotation. Dario Agrazal is scheduled to replace Brault when a fifth starter is first needed Tuesday in St. Louis.
Brault was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left shoulder strain Saturday.
Brault left his start Friday against the Brewers with what was originally called left shoulder discomfort. His diagnosis has now been upgraded to a strain. The severity of the strain remains unclear, but this move was to be expected regardless of how badly Brault is hurt, as the Pirates won't need him to pitch again for 10 days.
