Impact Brown's seventh-inning homer off Aaron Nola ended the Phillie starter's day. The slugger struggled all spring, hitting just .147/.171/.294, but still ended up batting fifth and starting at first base on Opening Day. With only a .227 career batting average, Oakland hopes to get another 20-homer season from Brown. That said, he has been exclusively a platoon player in his career and should continue to see the vast majority of his playing time against right-handed starters.
