Slated to miss more than 10 days Moreland (wrist) will be on the injured list longer than the minimum of 10 days, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Impact Moreland landed on the 10-day IL on Tuesday, and manager Bob Melvin revealed Friday that the 35-year-old will be in a splint "for at least a few weeks," Shayna Rubin of The San Jose Mercury News reports. A better timetable for his return will likely be revealed once he sheds his splint, but Jed Lowrie should see the majority of the playing time as the designated hitter in Moreland's absence.

Impact Moreland hasn't played since going 0-for-3 with a walk and run scored in Thursday's loss to the Yankees, and him not appearing in the last three games seems likely to be due to the wrist issue. His move to the injured list is retroactive to Saturday, so he'll be eligible to be activated Sept. 7, though it's possible he'll require more time to recover. In his absence, Jed Lowrie becomes further cemented as the primary DH against right-handed starters, which should open up more playing time for Tony Kemp at the keystone.
