DaShawn Keirsey Jr. - Gets start in RF Keirsey started in right field and went 0-for-4 with one steal in Friday's loss to Atlanta. He hit ninth in the batting order.

Impact Keirsey replaced injured Matt Wallner (hamstring) in right field and could continue to get starts in his place if he gets hot at the plate. He has speed to help fantasy teams (37 steals at Triple-A last season) but hasn't yet shown he can hit at the major league level. He's hitting .154 (2-for-13) after hitting .111 (2-for-18) in just 13 major league games last year.

Griffin Jax - Early season struggles continue Jax (0-2) took the loss in Friday's 6-4 loss to Atlanta. He allowed four runs on two hits and two walks while striking out one over one-third of an inning.

Impact Jax began the eighth inning with a three-run lead but couldn't hit his spots and wasn't helped by a shaky defense. It's his second poor outing in a row that has cost the Twins a lead. He has an ugly 11.25 ERA and 2.13 WHIP. He does have a strong 12:3 K:BB in eight innings with an unsustainable .480 BABIP, so there's plenty of reasons to believe he'll turn his season around. Still, he may see usage in lower-leverage spots the next few games to get him back on track.

Brock Stewart - Set to return Sunday Stewart (hamstring) will be activated from the 15-day IL on Sunday, the Minnesota Star Tribune reports.

Impact Stewart left a spring training appearance March 15 with a left hamstring strain and began the season on the injured list. He then had a setback in early April that delayed his return. He's made two minor league rehab appearances and says he's back to full strength. He should immediately have a prominent setup role when he returns.

Luke Keaschall - Two hits, steal in debut Keaschall went 2-for-4 with a double, one RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Friday's 6-4 loss to Atlanta.

Impact Keaschall had a successful major-league debut, taking little time to check off a few firsts. He supplied an RBI single and a steal in the second inning and scored his first run after doubling in the fourth. The top prospect has a little speed in his game after stealing 24 bases between High-A Cedar Rapids and Double-A Wichita last year. He also swiped four bags on five attempts over 14 games with Triple-A St. Paul prior to his call-up this year. The 22-year-old is up to provide extra infield depth as the Twins deal with a handful of injuries, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him carve out a decent share of playing time while in the majors.

Trevor Larnach - Belts first homer Larnach went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 6-4 loss to Atlanta.

Impact Larnach stretched the Twins' early lead to 3-0 with his third-inning homer. The 28-year-old is seeing consistent time in the lineup between designated hitter and left field, and he could also be an option in right field while Matt Wallner (hamstring) is out. Friday's homer was the first of the season for Larnach, who has added a .185/.299/.246 slash line, five RBI, nine runs scored and one stolen base over 19 contests.

Chris Paddack - Strong start goes to waste Paddack allowed a run on three hits and a walk while striking out six over five innings in a no-decision versus Atlanta on Friday.

Impact Paddack gave up just a solo home run to Jarred Kelenic in the fifth inning and left the game with Minnesota ahead 4-1. The bullpen couldn't keep the lead, as Griffin Jax and Cole Sands combined for an eighth-inning meltdown that cost Paddack what would have been his first win this season. He remains at 0-2 with a 7.27 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 15:9 K:BB over 17.1 innings. His last two starts have at least been serviceable, with a total of three runs allowed (two earned) over 10 innings. The right-hander's next start will be at home, either versus the White Sox or the Angels, depending on when Pablo Lopez (hamstring) is activated from the injured list.

Luke Keaschall - Officially promoted The Twins selected Keaschall's contract from Triple-A St. Paul on Friday, Phil Miller of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports.

Impact Keaschall slashed .261/.379/.348 with five RBI, eight runs and four stolen bases across 58 plate appearances in Triple-A and is regarded as one of the top prospects in the Twins' farm system. He'll help provide some stability in a Minnesota infield that has been battered by injuries recently, though he will be working as the DH during his MLB debut against Atlanta on Friday. Mickey Gasper was optioned to St. Paul to clear space for the Keaschall on the active roster, and Matt Canterino (shoulder) was designated for assignment to free up a 40-man spot.

Impact Gasper will head back to the minors even with Christian Vazquez working through a right hand injury, leaving Ryan Jeffers as the only healthy catcher currently on the Twins' roster. Gasper appeared in 10 major-league games for Minnesota and went 2-for-18 with four walks and one run scored in 22 plate appearances.

Impact The move makes room on the 40-man roster for Luke Keaschall, who was called from Triple-A St. Paul by the Twins on Friday. Canterino suffered a shoulder injury in early March, which was severe enough for him to undergo season-ending surgery.
