Carlos Santana - Three-hit effort in win Santana went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 9-1 win over the Cubs.
Impact The first baseman has recorded just two multi-hit efforts in 20 games in August, and he's drawn just eight walks in that span for a .274 on-base percentage. It's clear Santana is in a slump, which has lowered his season slash line to .226/.335/.373 with 17 home runs (none since July 24), 59 RBI, 59 runs scored and two stolen bases. Despite the slump, he's been in the starting nine on a nearly daily basis, as Ryan O'Hearn hasn't done enough to challenge for more playing time at first base.

Emmanuel Rivera - Notches steal in win Rivera went 2-for-4 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 9-1 win over the Cubs.
Impact The third baseman has hit .250 in 15 games since he was activated from the injured list Aug. 4. Only two of his 13 hits in that span (one home run, one double) have gone for extra bases. Rivera's stolen base Sunday was also his first of the year. The 25-year-old could still see the occasional day off when Hunter Dozier shifts from right field to third base.

Nicky Lopez - On base four times Sunday Lopez went 2-for-3 with a pair of walks, one RBI, a stolen base and two runs scored in Sunday's 9-1 win over the Cubs.
Impact The shortstop has taken quite nicely to batting second in the order against right-handed pitching. Lopez has slashed .361/.425/.472 with a home run, four RBI and seven runs scored in his last 10 games. He's emerged as an effective contact hitter this year with a .282 average, and he's added speed when he gets aboard by going a perfect 18-for-18 on stolen base attempts.
