Takes sixth loss Gant (4-6) took the loss versus Detroit on Wednesday. He allowed three runs on two hits and four walks with four strikeouts in three-plus innings.
Impact Gant threw only 34 of 70 pitches for strikes in the short outing. Wednesday was the fifth time in 14 starts he's walked four or more batters this year, leading to a career-worst 6.7 BB/9. The right-hander has a 3,76 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 50:48 K:BB across 64.2 innings this season. He lines up for a favorable matchup versus Arizona next week, though he's also in line to pitch on the road at Colorado if the team stays on its current pitching schedule.

Mediocre in loss Thursday Gant (4-5) allowed three earned runs on four hits and two walks while striking out four across 5.1 innings, taking the loss to Atlanta on Thursday.
Impact Gant shut out Atlanta through two outs in the fifth inning until Guillermo Heredia hit a solo home run. He then failed to get through the sixth frame while giving up another pair of runs. It still wasn't Gant's greatest start, but it was much better than his previous performance against the Cubs when he looked completely lost. The 28-year-old's ERA is up to 3.50 and he has a rough 1.61 WHIP. In addition, he has a poor 1.0 K/BB through 61.2 innings.
JUNE 18, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Walks five in batters in one inning Gant (4-4) allowed five earned runs on one hit and five walks while striking out one across 1.2 innings, taking the loss Saturday against the Cubs.
Impact Gant had horrible command Saturday, walking five batters in the second inning. In addition, he surrendered a two-run home run to Ian Happ. Needless to say, Gant had an outing to forget after he retired just five of the 11 batters he faced. The 28-year-old had a fantastic start to his season, but he's recently faltered with 12 runs allowed in his last 5.2 innings. He has a 3.36 ERA, but a high 1.65 WHIP in 56.1 innings.

Escapes with no-decision Gant didn't factor into the decision Sunday against the Reds after allowing seven runs on seven hits and three walks while fanning two across four innings.
Impact Gant had one of his worst outings of the season Sunday, giving up a season-high seven runs while allowing three walks for the third straight outings. Even though the right-hander owns a 2.63 ERA on the season, his command issues are being more noticeable as the campaign advances -- he has posted a 16:13 K:BB over his last five games. His next start is scheduled for next week on the road against the Cubs.

Blanks Dodgers across six Gant got the no-decision Tuesday in a 3-2 in over Los Angeles, pitching six innings and allowing no runs on four hits and three walks with four strikeouts.
Impact Gant held a powerful Dodger's lineup in check most of the night and only ran into trouble in the second and sixth innings when he put two runners on base but was able to navigate the jam. This was his second straight scoreless outing against a quality opponent as the 28-year-old righty is now the owner of a sparkling 1.60 ERA across 50.2 frames.
JUNE 2, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Picks up fourth victory Gant (4-3) earned the win Wednesday against the White Sox after allowing five hits with three walks and three strikeouts over five scoreless innings.
Impact The right-hander had a fair amount of traffic on the bases but didn't give up any extra-base hits to help blank Chicago across five frames. Gant has a 1.81 ERA over 44.2 innings (nine starts) this season, but his 1.52 WHIP and 35:31 K:BB remain causes for concern.
MAY 27, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Notches third win Tuesday Gant (3-3) picked up the win Tuesday, allowing two runs on five hits and a walk over 5.1 innings in a 5-2 win over the Pirates. He struck out three.
Impact The right-hander got the hook after 81 pitches (53 strikes), once again falling short of a quality start -- he has only one in eight outings, despite giving up three runs or less in each of them. Gant will take a 2.04 ERA and shaky 32:28 K:BB through 40 innings into his next start.
MAY 19, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Limits Brewers across five innings Gant allowed one run (none earned) on three hits and three walks while striking out four across five innings Wednesday against the Brewers. He did not factor into the decision.
Impact Gant turned in another effective start from a results perspective, and he has now allowed one or fewer earned runs across his last four appearances. In that same span, he has a 16:16 K:BB, which suggests that Gant cannot maintain these results in the long term. Instead, his success has been built on limiting the deep ball, as he's allowed 0.3 HR/9. Across 34.1 frames, Gant has a 1.83 ERA, and he is projected to take the mound next Tuesday against Pittsburgh.
MAY 13, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Struggles with command in loss Gant (2-3) allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits and six walks while striking out five across 4.1 innings, taking the loss to the Mets on Thursday.
Impact Gant was lucky he got out of his start with just one earned run. Justin Williams made an outstanding catch to strand the bases loaded in the third inning and the first inning was the only frame that Gant didn't allow a runner to get into scoring position. Both runs scored on him were via a walk. The 28-year-old has a 2.15 ERA despite a 1.70 WHIP and 24 walks in 29.1 innings.

Earns second straight win Gant (2-2) allowed one run on three hits and five walks while striking out two in five innings to earn the win against the Pirates on Friday.
Impact Gant struggled with command against Pittsburgh, as he only threw 55 of his 99 pitches for strikes. However, the right-hander limited the Pirates' run production and picked up his second consecutive win as a result. Gant has now posted a 2.16 ERA and 1.56 WHIP in 25 innings across his first five starts of the season. He tentatively lines up to make his next start at home against the Mets on Wednesday.
MAY 1, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Shuts down Reds for win Gant (1-2) allowed three hits and two walks while striking out five across six scoreless innings to earn the win Saturday against the Reds.
Impact Gant kept the ball on the ground and generated enough strikeouts to keep the Reds' bats in check. He also pitched very efficiently, as 52 of his 80 pitches went for strikes. That allowed him to work beyond five innings for the first time this season. Gant has maintained a 2.25 ERA paired with only an 18:13 K:BB across 20 innings through four starts. He is currently projected to draw his next start Friday at Pittsburgh.

Charged with second straight loss Gant (0-2) allowed two runs on five hits and five walks while striking out five in five innings to take the loss against the Phillies on Sunday.
Impact Gant didn't allow any earned runs in his season debut, but he's now been charged with losses in each of his last two outings. The right-hander now carries a 3.21 ERA and 1.86 WHIP in 14 innings this season. Gant will attempt to pick up his first win of the year at home against the Reds on Saturday.

Takes loss against Nationals Gant (0-1) was tagged with the loss Monday against the Nationals. He gave up three runs on six hits and three walks while fanning four across five innings.
Impact Gant gave up a run in the first inning on an RBI single from Juan Soto that scored Victor Robles, and while he settled down afterwards, he allowed three straight baserunners and allowed another run on an RBI double from Kyle Schwarber before departing the contest. Gant will look to earn his first win of the season in his next start at Philadelphia on April 18.
