Nova allowed five runs on 10 hits and one walk over 3.1 innings Sunday, striking out three batters in the loss to Seattle. He did not factor into the decision.
Nova kept the Mariners off the board through three frames before giving up five runs in the fourth. Despite Chicago's eventual defeat, his offense did enough to come back and avoid leaving him with the loss. The 32-year-old now owns a lackluster 4.86 ERA and 106:43 K:BB over 176 innings this season. Nova will take the mound in Detroit on Saturday.

Nova (9-11) took the loss Friday as the White Sox were downed 10-7 by Atlanta, allowing five runs (four earned) on eight hits and two walks over four innings. He failed to strike out a batter.
A four-run second inning accounted for most of the damage, as Nova got tagged for more than two runs in a start for the first time since July 17. The veteran right-hander will carry a 4.48 ERA and 97:40 K:BB through 162.2 innings into his next outing Wednesday in Cleveland.
