Reyes is back on the bench Tuesday against the Brewers.
Reyes sat for three straight games over the weekend due to neck stiffness, though he returned to the lineup for Monday's contest. It's unclear if Tuesday's absence is a routine one or if the injury has gotten worse. In either case, Josh Naylor will get the start in right field.
Reyes (neck) is starting in right field and batting fifth Monday against the Brewers.
Reyes has been on the bench since Friday due to neck stiffness, but he's ready to roll for Monday's series opener. He's slashing .240/.290/.535 with 19 homers and 33 RBI over 68 games in 2019.
Reyes is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies due to neck stiffness, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.
Reyes will be held out of the lineup for the third straight game as his neck has apparently been bothering him for a few days. The 23-year-old made pinch-hit appearances in each of the last two games, so it appears the Padres are just expressing some caution. Wil Myers, Manuel Margot and Hunter Renfroe will start in the outfield from left to right Sunday.
Reyes will sit for the second straight game Saturday against Colorado.
Reyes will sit in favor of Josh Naylor again. Naylor's .213/.213/.361 slash line can't compete with Reyes' .242/.292/.540, so it would be a surprise if that pattern continues unless Reyes is dealing with some sort of injury.
Reyes is not in the lineup Friday against the Rockies.
Reyes has just four hits over his last seven games. He'll hit the bench in favor of Josh Naylor for Friday's contest.
