Beau Brieske - Records first 2026 win Brieske (1-0) allowed a run in 1.2 innings of relief but managed to earn the win in Saturday's 11-7 victory over the Rockies. He struck out two.
Impact Brieske served up a solo home run to Ezequiel Tovar but otherwise pitched well to earn his first win of the season and only his second since the beginning of 2025. The righty reliever was just called up on Sept. 1 after last pitching in the majors in July. Brieske looks like a low-leverage relief option the rest of the way for the Tigers, which limits his fantasy upside.

Hao-Yu Lee - Drives in three runs Saturday Lee went 3-for-5 with two doubles, a triple, a walk, two runs and three RBI in an 11-7 win against the Rockies on Saturday.
Impact Lee was one of three Tigers to log a trio of hits, and all three of those knocks went for extra bases. The infielder drove in a run with a double in the fourth inning and added a clutch two-run, two-out triple in the eighth. Lee was in need of a strong performance, as he'd gone 1-for-17 with nine strikeouts (albeit with six walks) over his previous six games. He's started three of Detroit's past five contests.

Andrew Sears - Struggles in spot start Saturday Sears allowed four runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out five batters over 4.1 innings in a no-decision against Colorado on Saturday.
Impact Sears was recalled from Triple-A early in the day to make his fourth career MLB appearance (and second start). The southpaw got through two scoreless frames but then allowed two runs in each of the third and fourth innings. Sears did show good command with 51 of his 77 pitches thrown for strikes, but the seven hits he allowed were his most in a big-league appearance so far. Sears may return to the minors soon, as Jack Flaherty (forearm) could return from the injured list next week.

Jansen has been mostly dialed in since the All-Star break, and over his last 16.1 innings and 18 appearances he's put together a 2.20 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 20:9 K:BB with three wins and eight saves.

Impact The veteran southpaw delivered his fourth straight quality start, and 16th of the season, on 90 pitches (58 strikes). Valdez has found a groove late in the year, and over his last eight outings since the beginning of August he's produced a 2.86 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 29:19 K:BB in 50.1 innings with a 5-3 record. He'll look to keep rolling in his next start, which is set to come on the road next week in Toronto.

Impact Although the batters Verlander faced weren't taking any swings, Saturday's session marks a tangible step forward for the future Hall of Famer.
