Freese hit a solo home run in his only at-bat in Tuesday's win over the Rockies.
Freese came on as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning and launched a ball over the wall in right center field for his 11th long ball of the season. The 36-year-old has shown no signs of rust since coming off the injured list Monday, going 2-for-3 with a pair of homers and a walk in three games.
Freese went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in a victory over the Diamondbacks on Sunday.
Freese made his return to the lineup after missing 34 games with a strained left hamstring and contributed immediately, plating the Dodgers' first run with a solo shot to center field in the first inning. He had just one more at-bat, however, exiting for a pinch hitter in the sixth with a right-hander on the mound. Freese has been a valuable bench player and occasional starter for Los Angeles this season, slashing .303/.400/.509 with 10 homers and 28 RBI in 165 plate appearances.
Freese (hamstring) was activated off the 10-day injured list and is starting at first base and batting second Sunday at Arizona, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Freese returns to action after missing over five weeks with the left hamstring strain, and he'll immediately slot into the starting nine. The 36-year-old has a .300/.399/.579 slash line in 163 plate appearances this season and could see a decent workload while Max Muncy remains on the injured list with a small wrist fracture.
Freese (hamstring) will be activated from the injured list and in the starting lineup Sunday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.
Manager Dave Roberts indicated that Freese will immediately be starting upon his return from a left hamstring strain. With Max Muncy (wrist) placed on the 10-day injured list Friday, Freese may be called upon to assume regular first-base duties for the next few weeks. The 36-year-old is hitting .300 with nine homers and 27 RBI in 140 at-bats this season.
Freese (hamstring) will be activated Sept. 1, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
Freese was placed on the 10-day injured list July 26 with a strained left hamstring. He has been ramping up his activity of late, taking part in infield drills and running bases. He will likely resume his role as a pinch hitter and occasional starter at first base upon his return.
