Jose Miranda - Out of Minnesota lineup Miranda is not in the lineup for Monday's contest versus the Royals.

Impact Miranda has really struggled since returning from the injured list late last month, slashing only .200/.238/.275 in 12 games. Carlos Santana and Royce Lewis will occupy the corner infield spots for the Twins on Monday and Matt Wallner will be at designated hitter.

Will Brennan - Out of lineup vs. lefty Brennan is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Cubs.

Impact Since returning from Triple-A Columbus on Friday, Brennan seems to have taken back a regular spot in the lineup versus right-handed pitching, but the Guardians will continue to shield the lefty-hitting outfielder from southpaws. Jhonkensy Noel will get the nod in right field in place of Brennan on Monday while the Cubs send lefty Shota Imanaga to the bump.

Impact Though he's been picking up more playing time of late while he's thus far put together a .231/.310/.423 slash line in August, Rocchio isn't yet locked back in as an everyday player for the Guardians. Manager Stephen Vogt hasn't been leaning on a conventional platoon at shortstop between the switch-hitting Rocchio and the lefty-hitting Daniel Schneemann, either. Both players will hit the bench Monday against lefty Shota Imanaga while Tyler Freeman gets the nod at shortstop.
