Chicago White Sox Player News: All Positions

News: Colome threw a perfect ninth inning, recording one strikeout, to pick up the save in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Twins.
Impact: Colome was the eighth and final pitcher of a bullpen game for the White Sox. He came on the shut down the Twins in the bottom of the ninth inning after rookie Zack Collins provided insurance with a solo home run in the top of the inning. He recorded his 28th save in 30 opportunities.
News: Moncada went 2-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Twins.
Impact: Moncada continues to mash during the month of September. The two-hit night extends his hitting streak to seven games (16-for-33) with multiple hits in six of those contests. Going back further, the young third baseman has reached base safely in 16 straight (30-for-65, .507 OBP). Moncada is putting a bow on what has been a promising season, due in part to a more aggressive plate approach.
News: Collins went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Twins.
Impact: Collins' ninth-inning blast provided insurance in the win and was his second home run in as many days. The young catcher is currently riding a four-game hit streak (5-for-16) but batting just .179 since his callup.
News: Nova allowed two walks and struck out one over a scoreless first inning to open Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Twins.
Impact: This should be considered Nova's in-between starts work and should not affect his ability to serve as a normal starter Saturday. Nova, who threw 23 pitches Wednesday, departed his previous start Sunday after 71 pitches (3.1 innings).
News: Engel is not starting Wednesday against the Twins.
Impact: After starting 10 straight contests, Engel now hits the bench for the second time in three days. Leury Garcia again moves to center field Wednesday, with Daniel Palka in right.
News: McCann will be on the bench Wednesday in Minnesota.
Impact: McCann owns a solid .268/.333/.488 slash line over his last 11 games. Zack Collins will take over behind the plate Wednesday.
News: Anderson went 4-for-6 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's 9-8 extra-innings loss to the Twins.
Impact: Anderson recorded the first four-hit game of his career and solidified his major-league lead in batting average. His average increased to .336 with the performance, his 20th multi-hit effort in his last 29 games.
News: Detwiler allowed five runs on seven hits and four walks while striking out two over five-plus innings in Tuesday's 9-8 extra-innings loss to the Twins.
Impact: Detwiler was brought back to the White Sox's rotation after Lucas Giolito (lat) was shut down, and it's very likely he'll finish the season as a starter. Detwiler's 6.98 ERA should sufficiently scare fantasy owners from streaming him when he's next scheduled to start Tuesday at home against the Indians.
News: Nova will throw one inning to open Wednesday's game against the Twins instead of throwing his scheduled bullpen session, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
Impact: Dylan Covey (shoulder soreness) was scratched from that start so Nova will open the bullpen game in his stead. It sounds like this will not affect his ability to stay on turn and start Saturday's game against the Tigers.
News: Covey will not make his scheduled start Wednesday against the Twins due to shoulder soreness, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
Impact: Ivan Nova will throw an inning instead of his scheduled bullpen session that day, so it sounds like he may be the opener in a bullpen game. Covey is unlikely to return this season, according to Merkin.
