Goodwin went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a 3-2 extra-innings loss to the Rangers in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader.
His 12th blast of the year was nearly a big one, as he sent the game to extras off Jose Leclerc in the ninth inning, but the Angels weren't able to find another run. Goodwin has been seeing fairly regular playing time again in August and responded by slashing .262/.340/.571 through 15 games with three homers and six RBI.
Goodwin went 1-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and a walk in Saturday's 6-5 win over the White Sox.
Goodwin's game-tying solo shot came in the second inning off White Sox starter Hector Santiago. He also drew a bases-loaded walk in the seventh inning which plated what would be the winning run. Goodwin made the start in center field, with Mike Trout at designated hitter and Shohei Ohtani on the bench. The outfielder is hitting .278/.334/.481 with 11 homers, 34 RBI and 48 runs scored across 291 at-bats this season.
Goodwin is starting in left field and leading off for the Angels on Sunday.
Goodwin is making his third start in August while Justin Upton gets a breather. Goodwin is hitting .283 with eight home runs and 27 RBI as a starter this season.
Goodwin hit a two-run home run in a pinch-hit appearance Monday night against the Reds.
Goodwin cut his team's deficit to three in the top of the ninth inning with a two-run blast to right field, but the Angels weren't able to climb all the way back into this one. The 28-year-old has seen limited at-bats so far in August, going 2-for-5 in two contests. He figures to continue to serve as Los Angeles' fourth outfielder moving forward.
