Jacob deGrom - Starting at back-end of rotation Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Monday that deGrom will begin the season at "the back end" of the rotation, Shawn McFarland of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Impact DeGrom is considered healthy, but the Rangers are simply allowing the two-time Cy Young winner ample time to build up after he missed most of the last two seasons while recovering from his second Tommy John surgery. The 36-year-old will make his Cactus League debut Friday against the Rockies and will be built up to five innings by his final spring outing.

Corbin Carroll - Day-to-day with back issue Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Monday that Carroll (back) is considered day-to-day, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Impact Carroll had to be removed from Sunday's Cactus League game against the Rangers due to back tightness. The outfielder said after the contest that he was unconcerned about the injury, and Lovullo's comments Monday confirm that it's considered minor. Carroll has been excellent so far this spring, going 6-for-12 with three home runs and a pair of stolen bases.

David Buchanan - Spring debut on tap Buchanan (ankle) is scheduled to pitch in relief Monday in the Rangers' Cactus League game against the Royals, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Impact Buchanan will be making his Cactus League debut, after he was delayed earlier in camp when he sprained his left ankle during one of the Rangers' first workouts of the spring. The 35-year-old right-hander worked primarily as a starter last season at the Triple-A level between stints in the Phillies and Reds organization, but a relief role likely represents his most realistic path to a spot on Texas' Opening Day roster. Buchanan is still viewed as a longshot to break camp with the big club and will most likely be ticketed for Triple-A Round Rock.

Sebastian Walcott - Reassigned to minors camp The Rangers reassigned Walcott to minor-league camp Monday.
Impact Walcott was one of a host of roster cuts for the Rangers. Slated to turn 19 later this month, Walcott made a great impression at the plate this spring during his few opportunities, going 4-for-8 with three doubles and a home run. He's one of the top prospects in all of baseball and is likely headed back to Double-A Frisco to begin the 2025 campaign.
