Tarasenko and Thomas out for Blues’ matchup with Golden Knights
The St. Louis Blues will be without two of their top forwards for Thursday’s round-robin matchup with the Vegas Golden Knights.
Vladimir Tarasenko and Robert Thomas are both out for Thursday’s game, as 101 ESPN’s Alex Ferrario reported on Twitter. They join Ivan Barbashev, who had already been ruled out for the game after leaving the bubble to attend to his wife, who gave birth earlier this week.
Forwards Jordan Kyrou, Troy Brouwer and Mackenzie MacEachern will join the lineup against Vegas. In addition, defenseman Robert Bortuzzo joins the defensive mix, replacing Carl Gunnarsson, who played Sunday against Colorado.
Couple things tonight for #stlblues:
– No Thomas or Tarasenko (Berube fully expects them both in line-up on Sunday)
– Kyrou on 1st line & Brouwer on 3rd line
– Binnington will start tonight & Allen on Sunday
– D-pairings (6-27 / 72-55 / 29-41)

Head coach Craig Berube said he expects Tarasenko and Thomas to rejoin the lineup on Sunday against the Dallas Stars. Under the terms of the NHL’s restart plan, teams are no longer permitted to release details regarding why players are out of the lineup in an attempt to protect the privacy of players who may be dealing with issues relating to the COVID-19 pandemic.
