Teryn’s Hot Topics: From BPV opening to Miller Time, it’s been quite a week
ST. LOUIS — Am I dreaming?
Let me tell you, this past week has felt almost like a dream.
So much has been happening on the St. Louis sports scene, starting with the Ballpark Village opening ceremonies. After months of giving fans a sneak peek of St. Louis’ newest attraction, Kayla and I were privileged to be part of the festivities, including Monday’s ribbon cutting on the new FOX Sports Midwest Studio. The public response was over the top!

Then the Cardinals opened the season with a win and the Blues won an overtime thriller. And we’re only a few days away from the Cards’ home opener.
What’s not to love?
— If you weren’t at Ballpark Village for the Cards’ season opener, you should’ve heard how loud it was in there when Yadier Molina hit his home run for the only score of the game. FOX Sports Midwest Live! sounded just like Busch Stadium.
— OK, my managerial skills were just a tick off when I predicted last week that Jhonny Peralta would bat in the two-hole. Skipper Mike Matheny actually put Kolten Wong there. Close enough, right?
— Yeah, it was officially "Miller Time" at Scottrade on Tuesday. What a performance in net by Ryan Miller, who got a well deserved standing O from Blues fans that night. I actually got goose bumps. What a way for Miller earn his first career shutout with the Note.
— One of my favorite parts of the opening weekend was the FOX Sports Midwest Live! Blues Fan Fest. Hockey fans showed that Ballpark Village can also bleed blue.
— It looks like Mizzou’s top three leading scorers will no longer be with the Tigers next season. Jabari Brown and Jordan Clarkson both announced this week that they plan to enter the NBA Draft, and senior Earnest Ross, of course, is also moving on. As Tiger fans, we wish them the best! And a fresh start for Mizzou might not be a bad thing.
— You can join Kayla and me at Ballpark Village for the home opener celebrations all day Monday. Got the flu? (Wink, wink.) We can help you cure that with a little Cardinals baseball. 🙂
You’ve heard me rave about how cool our new studio is; see here for yourself! And tune into Cardinals Live before and after every game on FOX Sports Midwest throughout this season to see the new digs in action.
I think we can be declared the official tour guides of Ballpark Village, and when our friends Mason and Remy from 93.7 the Bull asked us to show them around, we couldn’t say no. Those guys rock!
