STL loyal: Ezekiel Elliott ready to rock Cardinals hat at Reds game

Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott is one proud St. Louis Cardinals fan.

NCAA rules now prevent Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott from wearing a crop-top jersey, but good luck keeping him out of his St. Louis Cardinals cap.

Elliott took to Twitter on Tuesday afternoon to let the people know which team he will be rooting for when he and his Buckeye teammates are honored at a Cincinnati Reds game Wednesday night.

And while baseball fans in Ohio might be a little peeved about his support for a hated division rival, will they really want to annoy a guy who rushed for 817 yards and 10 touchdowns over his last four games last season? Probably not — but, if the QB position is any indication, depth isn’t really a big issue for Urban Meyer and company.

Of course, there were a few hilarious replies from the Buckeye faithful.

Elliott grew up in St. Louis and attended John Burroughs High School, but he might not be the only Buckeye to risk drawing the ire of local fans.
