Allen stops 20, Blues take down Blackhawks 5-2

Jake Allen and the Blues will open up the regular season Oct. 8 in St. Louis.

Jake Allen made 20 saves to help the Blues beat the Chicago Blackhawks 5-2.

Dmitrij Jaskin, Troy Brouwer, Jori Lehtera, Kevin Shattenkirk and Kyle Brodziak scored for St. Louis.

Dennis Rasmussen and Brandon Mashinter scored for Chicago, and Scott Darling made 19 saves.

After regulation, the teams played a mandatory 3-on-3 overtime practice session. Neither team scored.
