Royals’ home opener will feature special pregame ceremony

Kauffman Stadium will be rockin' when the Royals make their 2015 debut on April 6.

Get ready for some baseball, Kansas City. 

The Royals released details of a special extended Opening Day pregame ceremony prior to Monday’s matchup against the White Sox. Pregame events include a ring presentation for members of the 2014 American League championship team and the raising of the AL pennant. Stadium gates will open at 1 p.m. and fans are encouraged to be seated by 2 p.m. in order to watch the festivities.

The following is a timeline of events leading up to the game:

1:00 p.m. –€“ Kauffman Stadium gates open to fans
2:00 p.m. — Fans encouraged to be in their seats for pregame ceremony, which will start at 2:09
2:29 p.m. –€“ 2014 AL championship ring presentation
2:39 p.m. — Raising of the 2014 AL pennant
2:43 p.m. — Introduction of Royals alumni
2:48 p.m. — Chicago White Sox introduction
2:51 p.m. –€“ 2015 Kansas City Royals introduction
3:03 p.m. — National anthem, performed by the Kansas City Symphony
