The Kansas City Royals are slimming down their roster by moving 15 players to minor league camp on Monday.

The Royals optioned pitchers Scott Barlow, Heath Fillmyer, Andres Machado, Eric Stout and Kyle Zimmer, as well as infielder Hunter Dozier to Omaha (AAA).

The Royals also optioned infielder Samir Dueñez to Northwest Arkansas (AA) and catcher Meibrys Viloria to Wilmington (A).

Additionally, pitchers Scott Blewett and Foster Griffin, catcher Chase Vallot, infielders Jack Lopez and Nicky Lopez and outfielders Donnie Dewees and Terrance Gore have been assigned to minor league camp.

Following tonight’s roster moves, the Royals have 51 players in Major League camp, which does not include pitcher Jesse Hahn (60-day disabled list) or outfielder Jorge Bonifacio (suspended).

Of the 51 players remaining, 17 of them are non-roster invitees.
